Acceptable Use & Content Standards

Last updated: 2026-08-13.

These standards cover how you behave on GetYuva and what you may post outside of listings — messages you send to agencies, your profile and agency page, and anything else you contribute. Listings themselves have their own rules in our Listing Rules, and both sit under our Terms of Service.

We keep these short and specific on purpose. You should be able to read them once and know where the lines are.

1. Who these apply to

Everyone using GetYuva: people searching for a home, individual owners, real estate agencies, and the staff who act on an agency's behalf. An agency is responsible for what its staff do on its account.

2. Messages and enquiries

When you contact an agency, or an agency replies to you, keep it about the property.

Do not use messages to:

  • send advertising, bulk messages, or solicitations unrelated to the enquiry;
  • pressure, harass, threaten, or abuse the person on the other end;
  • ask for or send payment details, deposits, or transfers through the platform — GetYuva never handles payments, and anyone asking you to pay through us is attempting fraud;
  • collect personal data for any purpose other than responding to the enquiry;
  • redirect people to another platform in order to avoid our rules.

Agencies: enquiry data is given to you so you can answer that person. Using it for marketing lists, reselling it, or contacting people about unrelated properties is not permitted and may breach data protection law independently of these standards.

3. Profiles and agency pages

Your profile and, for agencies, your public page must describe you accurately.

  • Use your real name, or your agency's registered trading name.
  • Do not impersonate another person, agency, or brand, or imply a partnership, certification, or affiliation you do not have.
  • Do not claim awards, memberships, or credentials you cannot evidence.
  • Profile images must be yours to use, and must not be images of other people.

Agency trust indicators shown on GetYuva are calculated by us from activity on the platform. Attempting to manipulate them — through fake listings, fake enquiries, coordinated accounts, or any other artificial activity — is a serious breach and is one of the fastest routes to termination.

4. General conduct

Do not:

  • harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse anyone, including our staff;
  • post or send content that is discriminatory, obscene, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful;
  • publish anyone's personal data without their consent — including photographs of identifiable people, phone numbers, addresses, or identity numbers;
  • attempt to access accounts, data, or areas of the platform you are not entitled to;
  • scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from GetYuva by automated means without our prior written permission;
  • probe, overload, or interfere with the platform's operation or security;
  • upload malicious code, or links designed to harvest credentials or personal data;
  • create multiple accounts to evade a restriction, or register again after termination.

5. One account per person

Individuals should hold one account. Agencies hold one agency account, with staff added to it rather than running parallel personal accounts for the same work.

If your account has been suspended or terminated, creating a new one to get around that is itself a breach, and we may close any account we reasonably link to a terminated one.

6. Account security is shared

Keep your password to yourself, don't reuse it from another site, and don't let someone else use your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

If you think someone else has access, tell us at [email protected] straight away so we can help you secure it. Reporting quickly is always better than hoping it resolves itself — we would far rather help you early.

7. What happens when these standards are breached

We aim to match the response to the problem, and to tell you what happened and why.

  1. A note or a request to fix it — for most first-time, low-harm issues.
  2. Removing or editing the specific content — a message, an image, a profile field.
  3. Restricting a capability — for example, pausing your ability to publish or to send enquiries, while leaving the rest of your account working.
  4. Suspension — temporary, usually while we look into something.
  5. Termination — for serious breaches, repeated breaches after warning, fraud, or attempts to manipulate the platform.

We may skip straight to suspension or termination where content or conduct appears unlawful, fraudulent, or is causing active harm to other people. In those cases we may act before contacting you.

Where we take action against specific content, we will normally tell you which content and which standard it breached.

8. If you think we got it wrong

You can challenge any action we take. Email [email protected], tell us what was removed or restricted, and why you think the decision was wrong. A person will look at it.

We will not penalise you for appealing. If we made a mistake, we will reverse it and, where we can, restore what was removed.

9. Reporting something

To report content or behaviour that breaches these standards, email [email protected] with a link and a short description of the problem. Reports about listings specifically are covered in our Listing Rules.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact the relevant emergency services first — we are not an emergency service and cannot respond at that speed.

10. Changes

We will update these standards as the platform grows and as we learn where the real problems are. Material changes will be reflected in the date above and, where appropriate, announced in the product.
